Geovale Continues To Engage With Students

Yet again, similar to last few years, Geovale participated in Prithvi 2017, an annual symposium organised by Department of Geology and Geophysics, IIT Kharagpur, held on March 17th to 19th, 2017. Prithvi is the largest and widest festival of Earth Sciences in India with a vision to strengthen Student- Industry connection and provide a platform to showcase their work.

Geovale’s presentation “Evaluating a Mineral Resource – Bunder Diamond Project – A Case Study” in the Guest Lecture session was an attempt to provide students with a glimpse of techniques and challenges to develop mineral resources. The representative from Geovale, having more than 6 years of experience with mining giants like Rio Tinto in diamond exploration and resource evaluation in India, shared his experiences to showcase widely used best practices to develop a project from exploration to Mining stage.

The event is designed to give them a practical and business perspective of mineral exploration not generally available in the classroom. Our country is a world leader in mineral exploration. This workshop is an attempt to encourage the highly qualified young students to enter the industry with a perspective of retaining our position in the leading mineral economy of the country in the future. The motto behind this presentation is to prepare a platform for the future Geoscientists in Mineral Exploration & Mining sector.
