Coal Auctions- Mahanadi and Phuljari Coal Blocks
#Mahanadi and #Phuljhari (East & West) are two coal blocks located in the #Talchir coal field of Odisha. Both these blocks are expected to invite considerable investor attraction for their high resource potential for thermal coal.
The Mahanadi #Coal block (3149 ha.) was explored by CMPDI with 241 boreholes for a cumulative depth of 74502m. The number of coal seams encountered is 25. The resource delineated is 2000 MT. There is a potential to augment the resource further by additional exploration.
Phuljhari (East & West) coal block (944 ha.) is fully explored. The number of coal seams established includes 29 main seams and 3 local seams. This block has a resource of 2210 MT.

Average coal quality varies from G7-G17 in both blocks. The average dip of the coal seam is 5° in both blocks.
